Mining is a crucial and foundational industrial activity. It starts with the extraction of raw granite from the earth's crust in large, substantial blocks. Granite slabs are usually found in quarries situated as close to the earth's surface as feasible. The granite is exposed by clearing away layers of earth and unwanted stones or soil through drilling or blasting, and then extracted from the ground using an open cast method. Subsequently, these large slabs are divided into smaller rectangular pieces, which are then sent for processing.
BLACK GRANITE MINE
At Zohra Marbles & Tiles, we possess several black granite quarries situated in the Udaipur district of Rajasthan. The granites we extract include Absolute Black and Copper Black, among others. These granites are unique, offering a consistently uniform color, texture, and shine. They are characterized by high density, durability, low porosity, enhanced flexural strength, and reduced sensitivity to acid.
FACTORIES
At Zohra Marbles & Tiles, we operate two fully functional manufacturing facilities. In these units, large stone blocks mined are transformed into exquisite stones according to customer specifications.
How are the Granites Processed?
- Massive stone blocks sourced from our quarries are cut into smaller sections using giant gang saws. These slabs are polished on one side, grouped with others of similar size from the same block, and then packed into containers for shipment to factories.
- During the chipping process, each slab's surface is isolated from its neighboring slabs and moved to an edge cutting machine. This precise procedure trims off any rough edges or imperfections, preparing the slabs for final polishing to achieve a smooth finish.
- Granite becomes more attractive with the addition of colors and patterns. There's an endless selection of colors, patterns, and textures to suit your preferences, ensuring the best possible finish—all beautifully fused with epoxy chemicals into a stunning stone!
